About the Concert
Experience the magic of the season at "A Holiday Affair," our special evening presentation of our "Christmas Kaleidoscope" program, featuring the Folsom Lake College choirs. This program features a delightfully diverse set of works by composers from all over the world, including “A Ceremony of Carols” by Benjamin Britten featuring local harpist Ruth Rubio, “The Christmas Song” arranged by Mark Hayes, “The Virgin Mary had a Baby Boy” arranged by Stacey V. Gibbs and more. You'll also be treated to hand chimes performances by Cantare Chorale and holiday duets between our harpist and local violinist Bethany Rubio.
The word kaleidoscope comes from Greek words meaning "beautiful form to see." A kaleidoscope provides a never-ending array of beautiful -- sometimes breathtaking -- art. But the art lasts only a few moments before it's replaced by the next amazing image. With each turn of the kaleidoscope viewer comes reflection, refraction, and symmetry of light. With Christmas Kaleidescope, we hope to present you with a joyful and wondrous vision of Christmas – each song evoking new sensations!

About the Venue
The Shakespeare Club
2940 Bedford Ave, Placerville, CA 95667
Located in the city of Placerville, California, this unique building is the perfect place for a special night of music! Nestled among many 19th century homes, this lovely building is a unique setting for our concerts. The architecture of the building, as its name implies, is much like the buildings of Shakespeare’s day. One might imagine being in merry old England in the area of Stratford-Upon-Avon where all the world’s a stage. Here, everyone can enjoy a bit of romance. Lot parking is limited, so please come prepared to street park. We encourage carpooling and bringing lighting for a safe walk to the building.
